Too cold for angels to fly

Raymond Mujuni

The cradle of chains binding faithful souls

The same from which spit of peace thrusts the grounds

Bears the knife that stabs our hearts

It's too cold for angels to fly

The rumbles of earth's awakenings

Shudder at the thought of losing merciful compassion

For the second grace

It's too cold for angels to fly

The scrolls from which the words unfold

The same from which their tongues lie about what was told

Cloud innocent spirits enchained

It's too cold for angels to fly

Sinking to rise no more

Drowning in gulps of belief

The mighty melodies are gone

It's too cold for angels to fly

But they won't let go

They cry, they hurt, they try

Light your souls

It's too cold for angels to fly.
